Hot & Cold Animal Puzzle Pieces.  In this lesson the student were practicing some elements of art such as patterns, lines, geometrical shapes,  and organic shapes along with becoming familar with warm and cool colors. The students were given a puzzle piece that was label warm or cool and given an element that they had to draw as the background to the puzzle piece. As the forground the student drew an animal of there liking and colored it with one of the selected colors of the  color sceme that they got and was able to use the rest of the colors in the color scheme in the back ground. once they were all finished the puzzle was put together and a warm and cool collage of pictures came together.
   A teacher could use this puzzle idea to develope character in students. draw a large outline of a person and cut the pieces into as many pieces need for the class, then have the student draw and write traits that are admired in today's society, (honesty, trust, polite, respectfull, etc...). then explain that these are characteristic that make up good students. This will give the student a visual when they are in times of uncertainty, and it give the the teacher a tool to refer to when students are misbehaving.
